My Garden In A Vase

My Garden In A Vase is a project I’ve been working on this past year photographing flowers I’ve grown in my own garden - another of my passions. The lighting set up was inspired by my grandfather still life paintings. I remember him painting for hours on end in his dark bedroom with a lamp pointing at his canvas and another lamp lighting a still life that he would have set up in a small table.

Burren Orchids

I'm really lucky to leave in The Burren in the west of Ireland. The Burren with its lunar landscapes is packed with rare flowers,  but the ones I find most fascinating and beautiful are the orchids. Here are some examples of these magnificent plants.

Gannets

The Saltee Islands off the coast of Kilmore Quay Co. Wexford, Ireland, are a sanctuary for many sea birds, but the largest colony of birds there belongs to the gannets.
